It has been really awful for the aviation industry for the past 3 years because of COVID. However as we move out of the Coronavirus and the travel restrictions are removed, we’re seeing healthy growth in the aviation industry.
As the travel industry experiences renewed growth after a hiatus, there was a celebration in London on Friday. Leaders of the industry convened for the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2022. Remarkably, this marks the first occasion in almost four years that these awards have been presented in person.
Skytrax is a UK-based airline and also an airport reviewer and ranking site. It conducted over 14 million customer surveys in at least 100 countries from September 2021 to August 2022.
The Number 1 Contender
The top place was reserved for none other than Qatar Airways who has won the top prize five times since the awards were introduced in 1999. The Airline also won 8 more awards on Friday, including the Best Business Class, Best Business Class Seat, and Best Business Class Lounge Dining.
A few months ago, it also took the award for the world’s best airlines in AirlineRatings.com’s ranking.
One of the Qatar Airways group chief executives, Akbar Al Baker, thanked his “wonderful employees” for “their continuous dedication”.
Second To One
Singapore Airlines took second place. It also won 9 awards, including Best Cabin Staff, Best First Class, Best First Class Seat, and Best First Class Catering.
Emirates grabbed 3rd place in the rankings. It was also awarded Best Inflight Entertainment, Best Economy Class, Best Economy Class Catering, and Best Premium Economy Class Seat.
ANA (All Nippon Airways) won the 4th position and was named the World’s Cleanest Airline. It also won 4 more awards, including Best Airport Services.
The Qantas came in the fifth position in the rankings.
